WANOBIでは「日本の伝統工芸を次の世代に引き継ぐ」という思いを持った神戸の若者たちが2020年、新たにYouthTeam として関わるようになりました。ここで、職人の手わざが生み出したとっておきの品物
を紹介していきます。
私たちは「敷居が高く日常に使いにくい」というイメージから敬遠されてきた和の製品と若い世代の架け橋になりたい。
そして長い歴史の中で磨きがかった和の製品を取り入れて、毎日に彩りを添えるお手伝いをしたい。そんなふうに考えています。
In 2020 WANOBI Youth Team started with several university students in Kobe. We would like to be a part of this project with the purpose of “passing on traditional Japanese handicrafts to the next generation.” Here we will introduce special items created by some skilled Japanese artisans/artists.
Young Japanese people tend to think these traditional items are prestigious and not for them.
By offering more affordable products, we wish to help other people of our generation find a product they really like. It will be wonderful to see many more start using these Japanese handicrafts that have been refined for over many years.

日本は大陸の文化と融合しながら美しく豊かな伝統工芸を古来より数多く生み出してきました。しかし、外国から安価な大量生産品が流入し、工芸品に携わる職人の高齢化が進んだいま、日本の若い世代が和の製品に触れ、その本質を学ぶ機会は昔と比べると確実に減っています。
このままでは、和の文化が完全に廃れてしまう。
危機感を抱いた私たちは、若い世代が使いたいと思えるような機能性やデザインを持つ和の製品を、職人とともに考案・開発していくための第一歩を踏み出しました。
手仕事のぬくもりを感じられて、ちょっといい気分になれる、そんな製品をこちらでご紹介します。
“Passing on traditional Japanese crafts to the next generation”
Since ancient times, Japan has produced many exquisite traditional crafts while fusing with other cultures. However, the influx of imported cheap mass-produced products and the aging of artisans involved in crafts are causing serious problems. Additionally, the opportunities for younger generations in Japan to learn about and find handmade Japanese products are decreasing.
If this continues, Japanese culture will completely disappear.
With this sense of crisis, we have taken the first steps with artisans to devise and develop Japanese products that have a design and functionality that younger generations will embrace.
Here are some products that will make you feel the warmth of handicrafts and will make you feel a little happier.
